Our New Shuttle Bus is Here! 🚐☀️

We’re excited to share that Mill Gardens now has a brand-new shuttle bus—and it’s already making a big difference in the quality of our group outings!

The shuttle is used for group activities, transportation needs, and shopping trips, giving residents greater access to everything Bergen County and beyond has to offer.

  • A shopping trip to Paramus Park Mall

  • A scenic visit to Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park

  • And upcoming restaurant outings!

With summer around the corner, we’re looking forward to even more excursions—including Van Saun Park and other outdoor destinations perfect for warm-weather fun.

Providing reliable and comfortable transportation is just one more way we help residents stay active, engaged, and connected with the community. Stay tuned for more updates on where we’re heading next!

Spring 2025 at Mill Gardens!

Updates at Mill Gardens at Midland Park

Spring has officially sprung at Mill Gardens, and with it comes a fresh wave of activity, renewal, and cause for celebration. We’re excited to share several recent updates and memorable moments from our vibrant assisted living community!

Cherry Blossom Festival Outing

We were thrilled to resume recreational outings this season with our much-loved annual visit to the Branch Brook Park Cherry Blossom Festival. Residents enjoyed the stunning pink and white blooms, which made for a beautiful day filled with fun and fresh spring air.

Outdoor Spaces Now Open

With warmer days ahead, our Back Patio, Resident Park, and Gardens areas are officially open for the season. These outdoor areas are a cherished part of community life—ideal for enjoying our quiet, picturesque neighborhood; strolling along our walking paths; or simply relaxing in the sun.

Dining & Wellness Areas Get a Refresh

We’ve given our Private Dining Room and Wellness Center thoughtful makeovers, featuring high-quality, wood-style flooring for both areas. In addition, we added a fresh coat of paint to Wellness and elegant new plate ware for the private dining room. These enhancements help create an ever-more comfortable environment in-line with our trademark quality of “homelike elegance”.

Thank You, Kaity!

This spring also marks a heartfelt farewell to our dedicated intern, Kaity, who has spent the past two semesters enriching the lives of our residents. From one-on-one visits to assisting with group activities, Kaity’s presence has been a true gift. We congratulate her on earning her Bachelor of Social Work and wish her all the best in her future career. Our internship program continues to be a valuable partnership with our Bergen County neighbors, Ramapo College of New Jersey, and we look forward to welcoming a new intern in the fall.

Cinco de Mayo Celebration with Mariachi Music

Our residents recently enjoyed a lively Cinco de Mayo-themed celebration complete with festive décor, traditional treats, and a live mariachi performance. It was a joyful occasion that brought the community together in the spirit of music and culture.

Mill Gardens & Bergen New Bridge

We are proud to announce that Mill Gardens has partnered with New Jersey’s largest hospital, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center! This partnership will allow access to a wide array of quality services that will enhance what we can do for you and the services and support we can offer to you.

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center (BNBMC), located in Paramus with satellite locations throughout Bergen County, is a clinical affiliate of Rutgers University. The Medical Center is both the largest hospital and licensed nursing home in New Jersey providing high-quality comprehensive services, including acute and ambulatory care, mental health and substance use disorder treatment, long-term care, 24/7 emergency department, surgical suites, physical rehabilitation, pharmacy, laboratory, and radiologic services (including digital mammography).

Many Mill Gardens residents may recall that Bergen New Bridge provided a tremendous service to the Mill Gardens community during the height of the COVID Pandemic by providing us vital on-site COVID testing and laboratory services. During this time, they demonstrated their high-quality clinical and administrative expertise to us first-hand. In addition to that, their reputation in senior care is exceptional and they have been recognized for two years in a row as a Best Nursing Home by Newsweek. It is clear to us that the depth and breadth of the services the Medical Center offers will directly benefit all Mill Gardens residents.

Other than that, the characteristics that have made Mill Gardens special for 22 years will of course remain as you know them: your home, your staff, your activities, and your services. This relationship will simply add to what we already provide.

We are excited for our future with this new partnership!

The Milestones Continue

We are very excited to be providing so many aspects of our active lifestyle to residents while still maintaining our high standards of infection control around the community. We have mandated the COVID-19 vaccine for our staff members and currently we are proud to share that 100% of our residents and 100% of staff who interact with residents are fully vaccinated. This major highlight has helped us to balance other components of infection control with further enjoyment for our residents throughout the day.

(Full) Dining Room Grand Re-Opening!

Thanks in large part to the above highlights, we were able to reopen communal dining a few months ago. We took this exciting action in steps, starting with lunches and then adding breakfasts as well. As of yesterday, we have added the final component: dinner!

Our culinary program has always been a major focus of our community and we are beyond excited to return to a full restaurant-dining experience. In typical Mill Gardens fashion, we celebrated this event with an extra-special evening menu (a “Surf & Turf” of Lobster Tail & Filet Mignon being just one of the highlights) as well as other added festivity.

More updates to come! As always, please feel free to call us with any questions about our updates or other aspects of our community 201-493-7400.
